NYC chica, in my late-thirties, trying to work my way out of debt and towards happiness.
About Me:
Liz
Current Debt:
CC - $758.90 (at 0% until April) - will not be adding to this, and it will be paid off before 0% expires.
Back Taxes (combined Federal & State) - around $7300, need to confirm this number, currently paying $100 per month to each entity towards this, will increase now that CC debt is all but gone
Student Loans - $4,814.67 (currently in forebearance until sometime next year, this was done while I was trying to pay off higher interest revolving debt, I'll probably resume this payment soon).
Car Loan - $25,138.28 (payment is $565.98, 49 months left....I pay $265.98, Mom pays $300)
401k Loan - about $765, $22 repaid every pay period towards this, about 18 months left. Will accelerate these payments soon.
Current Savings:
401k - $6,953.26 (not currently contributing, halted contributions to pay off debt, will shortly begin contributing enough to get match - 100% first 3%, 50% next 3%, and then will increase from there as able)
Misc - About $88k in a savings account tucked away for home purchase (DP, closing, mortgage/maintenance reserves)
2018 Financial Goals:
[ ] Restart 401k contributions - enough to get max company match
[ ] Start actual EF - hopefully getting close to 6 months worth of expenses - completely separate from home buying money
[ ] Convert secured CC into traditional CC (getting back $899 deposit) - this one is an oldie, still on here. Now that the card is paid off, I am going to leave it be while I get a mortgage. I'll address this afterward unless Cap one converts automatically. When I get this deposit back, it will go to fund one of the other goals.
[ ] Buy my first home!!!! Shooting for a 2 bedroom co-op in Queens, NY, in the area of $300k. This is on track for late 2018
